Pathway for High School Students

The NCC-HU iAM Program is a National Science Foundation funded Program for Pell-eligible students who: 

Apply to NCC (apply.ncc.edu)  Be sure to indicate joint admissions with Hofstra University. 

• Major in one of five STEM (Biology, Computer Science, Engineering Science, Liberal Arts and Science – Math and Science, or Mathematics) NCC programs and plan to transfer to one of 25 STEM programs at HU. 

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov.   The 2024–25 FAFSA® form will be available in December 2023. Learn how to prepare for and stay informed about the FAFSA launch.

• Demonstrate academic potential, including a GPA of 3.0 or an 80% average in high school. 

Complete the NCC-HU iAM Program application. Applications are now open for Class of 2024 high school students entering college in Fall 2024.  Applications are due May 17, 2024.

• Provide a letter of recommendation from a science or math teacher. 

Features of the NCC-HU iAM Program 

• Up to $10,000 per year in scholarship support 

• An additional $2,000 stipend to conduct hands-on research during July 2024 

• Accelerated math course placement using ALEKS (courseware free for iAM Scholars) 

• Seamless credit transfer and timely graduation 

• Individualized course and program advisement 

• Faculty and peer mentors 

• Students make friends and socialize in the NCC-HU iAM student club 

• Networking with STEM professionals
